The 161st annual Mississippi State Fair was originally scheduled to wrap up over the weekend, but because of Hurricane Delta’s effect on the event, the fair has been extended.
In a Facebook post Monday morning, Mississippi Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gipson announced that the fair will stick around for one more weekend (Thursday-Sunday) with “fair weather” on the horizon.
The inclement weather brought on by the recent storm caused officials to alter the fair schedule on October 9th and 10th prompting the decision to extend the event on the back-end.
Additional details will be announced later in the day by the Department of Agriculture.
