COVID-19 in Mississippi: Numbers rise and cases are confirmed in the Legislature

Friday may have kicked off a long Fourth of July weekend, but the threat and the impact of COVID-19 did not take a break.

The three day total of new coronavirus cases, including Friday (914), Saturday (990), and Sunday (226) equals 2,130, bringing the state’s total number of cases, since March 11th, to 30,900.  Sadly, over the three day weekend, 25 more souls were lost to the virus, bringing the total number of deaths in Mississippi to 1,111.
