During a press conference at the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency headquarters, a MEMA representative stated that the National Weather Service has identified 14 tornados that touched down and that the number may rise as assessments continue.
No deaths were reported in Mississippi, but there have been 15 injuries. Preliminary damage reports show that over 150 homes have been either damaged or destroyed.
