Following a record-setting performance on Saturday, Mississippi State RB Kylin Hill has been named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week.
The junior RB tallied 234 yards and 3 TDs against Arkansas, which led the Bulldogs as they set school records for rushing yards in a conference game (460) and total yards (640). In the 54-24 win over the Razorbacks, Hill reclaimed his position as the SEC’s leading rusher with 1,027 yards on the season.
While breaking off runs of 62, 58 and 37 yards, Hill became the first player in school history with over 230 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a game. With 198 yards in the first half, Hill set an MSU record for yards in a half. The Columbus native showed off his physical running style on Saturday with 110 yards after contact on his way to averaging 11.1 yards per carry.
The SEC weekly honor is Hill’s second of his career and first this season.
With the performance, Hill surpassed the 2,000-yard mark for his career and picked up his SEC-leading sixth 100-yard rushing game of the season.
