The leaders of both chambers in the Mississippi Legislature have tested positive for COVID-19.
Following the recent announcement that Speaker of the House Philip Gunn and several other House members had tested positive, Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann has also tested positive for coronavirus.
“Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann has informed members of the Senate he tested positive for COVID-19 and will follow State Health Department guidelines for self-quarantining and working at home,” his office said in a statement.
Governor Tate Reeves, who came in contact with both Gunn and Hosemann last week, announced this morning that his test results came back negative.
