Actor Jason Mitchell, best known for his role as Eazy-E in ‘Straight Outta Compton’, was arrested on drug charges in Gulfport Wednesday morning.
According to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Mitchell, 33, was stopped by a deputy on I-10 in Gulfport and a “probable cause search” of his GMC Yukon was conducted. During the search, authorities found two pounds of marijuana in individual bags and multiple bags containing a total of 1,300 dosage units of Ecstasy. The HCSO stated that the “quantity of the marijuana, ecstasy and the packaging of the drugs was indicative of a mid-level distribution operation.”
In addition to the drugs, an AK-47 and a Glock 9mm pistol with extended magazines were found in the car.
Mitchell, who is from New Orleans, was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center and charged with multiple felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Marijuana and MDMA (Ecstasy) and Possession of a Firearm by a felon.
His bond was set at $150,000.
