While the owners and the players can’t figure out how to get their season started, the 2020 MLB Draft is underway. Like everything else in the world, this year’s draft has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Typically, the MLB Draft consists of 40 rounds, but this year’s draft will feature just 5.
Last night, the first round was completed and rounds 2-5 will take place tonight. When the draft ends, teams can sign an unlimited number of undrafted free agents for a signing bonus of up to $20,000.
